I mentioned earlier that I found the citizens of Nevis to be very friendly and interesting. This goes double for Bernard (Biddy) Weekes the cab service we used to travel around the island. Biddy is outgoing but never overbearing, occasionally pointing out interesting aspects of island life while driving, but never rambling on and on for the sake of conversation. He also saves you the hassle (and possible terror) of driving on the left side of the road. With the narrow, winding roads on Nevis this is a real plus. Besides, renting a car is expensive and you have to buy a temporary drivers permit. Biddy is also very responsive. We never had to wait long for a cab, and of course you\'ll never wander around the island looking for your destination.
